From 1st January 2015, any student who undertakes an accredited training course in Australia must create a Unique Student Identifier (USI). This is a reference number made up of letters and numbers linked to the National Vocational Education and Training (VET) Data Collection.

This reference number creates access for students to see their training results from all providers including all completed units and qualifications.

If you are a new or continuing student undertaking nationally recognised training, you need a USI in order to receive your qualification or statement of attainment. If you don’t have a USI you will not receive your qualification or statement of attainment.

This USI will stay with the student for life and be updated with any nationally recognised VET course that is completed from the 1st January 2015 onwards.

If you do not already have a USI prior to commencing your studies at Astute Training Pty Ltd our staff will assist you with the process of setting up your own USI account during your induction. There is no cost for creating a USI.

For more information on Unique Student Identifiers visit the website here.

Astute Training is proud to be recognised as an approved provider of traineeships under the Smart and Skilled initiative.

Under this program funding for the formal training component of most traineeships is provided by the NSW Department of Education and Training. (Training for existing-worker traineeships is not subsidised.)

If you are unsure about what a traineeship program entails, the Australian Apprenticeships and Traineeships Information Service website is your first step to understanding.

If you would then like further information on how Astute Training can assist you in managing your trainee education program, please do not hesitate to contact our friendly staff.

STUDYING AT

Astute Training

Every class in Astute Training Pty Ltd is unique in size. No matter how many students are in your class, your classroom is more than adequate in size to be comfortable. View our Facilities Gallery if you would like to see our classrooms and equipment.

All Business Studies students have access to laptop PC’s during every class. Students from other courses are able to use laptops for research or to prepare assignments when needed. Community Services students have access to tablets during every class. We also have free NBN broadband wireless internet available for all students to use on their mobile phones or other own devices.

All of our trainers are highly qualified and experienced in their field. At Astute Training you will be made to feel like one of the family from the moment you arrive and your trainers will be there to help you in everything you do while at college. Our trainers are all friendly, mature and fun people to be around and will make your study sessions enjoyable.

A black pen, your smile and your lunch. That’s it! We provide everything else you will need.

No, we do not have private parking facilities but we are within walking distance of three large car parking areas. Our only advice is that if you want to park all day for free in any of the areas, you should aim to be there before 9:00 am.

Of course you can! We provide 2 well-equipped kitchens for student use. Both kitchens have microwaves, refrigerators, instant boiling water, cafe bars and washing up facilities. Sometimes our students arrange mini-feast days when everyone brings food to share. We encourage this so that we all get to experience tastes and smells from around the world.

On your first day you will meet with other new students and be helped to fill out all necessary paperwork by our Student Support Adviser. You will have your photograph taken for your Student ID card and be taken on a tour of the college and to meet your trainer. Any questions you have will be answered and you will be thoroughly prepared for when you begin your class the following week.
